WISE - India made its presence felt in the recently concluded conference of World Federation of Engineering Organizations at Buenos Aires, Argentina which was held from 17th October- 20th October, 2010, wherein three of WISE members actively participated in the Conference. Ms. SangeetaWij, President, WISE-India made a presentation on the newly formed WISE-India in the Women in Engineering Committee meeting, held on 16th October, 2010. She gave a brief outline of the statistics of Indian women in the science and engineering fields, the diminishing number of women at the top due to the glass ceiling. She highlighted the vision and objectives of WISE and the action plan of activities to achieve the objectives and make WISE the voice of women scientists and engineers in India. The presentation received an overwhelming response and the initiative was very much appreciated.
